The zamfara state government in collaboration with the UNICEF has discovered 10 new cases of polio in 3 local local government areas of the state.
This was announced by the executive secretary Zamfara primary health care board Dr Hussain Anka during a one day media sensitization and dialogue on fip polio vaccination campaign.He reiterated the determination of the state government in collaboration with donor agencies to eradicate all forms of polio virus in the state.
He said the polio virus was discovered in Gummi with 6 new cases,Maru 2 new cases and Tsafe with 2 cases.
He said the recent discovery is as a result of in accessibility of areas in the state as a result of insecurity,he said the state government has directed all local government authories to mobilize all security agencies in their local government for proper coverage of the excise.
Dr Hussain Anka said over 200 participating staff has been drop for various offenses.
Dr Hussain further commended the Sultan foundation for polio eradication and other agencies for continue support for polio eradication in Nigeria and zamfara in particular.
He said various stalk holders were involved in the fight against polio eradication such as religious leaders, traditional institution and civil society organization, private schools and government schools to ensure that no child left behind.
He said certain incentive were introduce to the children for taken the vaccine that every child that took the vaccine is in tittle to one indomie so as to encourage both the parents and children.
