1,450 students of Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda have been matriculated.
The students were to under take various courses in the institution, and some of the students are to study both National and High National Diplomas courses
Addressing journalists shortly after the ceremony, the Rector of the institution Dr, Aminu Yusuf said, the Institution have secured the accreditation of 38 new courses as against the earlier only 3 courses in other to boast the performance of the institution .
He said with the accreditation of the new courses, the institution can compete favourably with its contemporaries in the areas manpower and facilities that can update the students on technology of modern learning skills.
Dr Aminu call on students and teachers to shun any act of Cultism even though there were no reported cases in that regard and that any body caught will not be spare and urged them to focus more on their studies
The Rector further called on female students to avoid indecent dress as it will not be allow, among other things that will not give good image of the institution.
Dr Aminu said the security of the institution is a top priority as
the institution is working closely with all relevant security agencies in the State to ensure students and staffs and their properties are adequately safeguarded for conducive learning environment.
Dr Aminu assured parents and guidians that the institution is safe for learning activities as adequate security measures has taken place to safeguard institution from any security threat.
The Rector highlights some the achievements he recorded within just one year of his leadership in the institution, which are
completion of 2.5km fencing in the Institution, remodeling of the Institution’s ICT and renovation of most of the hostels by State government,
recruitment of thirty workers
Dr Aminu said adequate sports facilities have been provided for both the students and teachers. He added that the students have once participated at the inter Polytechnic competition and they took second position.
He appealed to the Federal Government to increase funding to the Institution, as it will boost their moral in the discharge of their primary assignment.
