The Farmer Governor of Niger state Mohammed Umar Bago commended the foresight of the Chairman board of trustee of National union of road transport Workers Alh Najeem Usman Yasin for his fatherly role in the restoration of peace in (NURTW) Niger state council.
He disclosed these at the commissioning ceremony of a Secretariat and shopping Plaza named Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago State Secretariat/ Shopping Plaza.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Governor Comrade Mohammed Yakubu Garba stated that the National union of road transport Workers Niger state council has made his Principal proud by naming the entire Secretariat in his name which is first of its kind in the state. He commented the entire leadership of NURTW Niger state council and urged them to maintain the tempo.
The Farmer Deputy Governor said the role been played the drivers in the society can not be quatified pointing out that members of the Union should take and maintain their role in society seriously. He further disclosed that without drivers the entire country would be at what he called standstill.
He commended the National union of road transport Workers Niger Council for looking inward towards its revenue drive by building a befitting shopping Plaza to inhance more revenue for the day to day running of the Union in the state.
In his speech the Acting President Alh Isa Aliyu Ore thank the government and people of Niger state for their support towards the peaceful coexistence of the Union in the state. He equally commended the leadership of the Union for embarking on the giant projects that is aimed at moving the entire Union to a greater heights calling on other states councils to emulate the Niger state Council.
Alh Isa Aliyu Ore who lamented on the recent increase in petroleum products which he said was a great challenge to its members however called on them to key into the Federal government CNG program these according to him would safe cost and reduce transport problems of its teeming members and the society at large .
He thank the federal government under the leadership of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the CNG noble initiative that would ease movement of goods and services.
Earlier the Chairman Niger state council Comrade Garba Musa Bala said the idea behind building the edifice was to inhance revenue generation for the council so as to assist it’s members when the need arises.
He appreciates the past leadership of NURTW whom he said they acquired the land especially Alh Abdullahi Mohammed Paiko, He equally thanked the entire members for their support towards the laudable achievement.
He thanked the Farmer Deputy Governor for finding time to grace the occasion dispite the short notice given to him.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Hon speaker Niger state House of Assembly Alh Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji who applauded the giant strides of the Union, Hon commissioner for transport Hajiya Hadiza Idris Kuta urged members to remain peaceful with one another and support the government of the day, equally representatives of the Emir and TUC and NLC also called for peace and harmonious relationship among unions in the state.
