Zamfara State Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (ZM-CARE) Programme’s in collaboration with Federal Cares Support Units have organised a five day’s training on Gender based Violence and Grievance Mechanism to Safeguard Officers.
The five day’s training Titled; Gender Based Violence and Grievance Mechanism step-Down Training for the Safeguard Officer’s in NG-CARES, which recently held at Stonehenge hotel in Kaduna.
The co ordinator Zamfara state (zm- Care) programmes, Mukhtar Ibrahim Ruwan Doruwa, has appeals to Zamfara peoples to gives a maximum co operations for our safeguard officers while discharging their duties.
He also urged them to understood that the officers primary responsibility is to serves the populous that would benefit from the programmes, however tasks the participants to paid more attention with the training alao charged them displayed good characters as the ambassador to the state.
” our target at the end of training is equipt the Safeguard officers with an apprepate knowledge for GBV and GRM that would enable them to stand on the apprepate and intake the end of the project.”
Speaking with newsmen’s, Abdulrazak Usman Moriki, the Coordinator Zamfara state Operations Coordinating Unit (SOCU) National Social Safety Net Programme(NASSP-SU), said.
“it’s vital to staffs for them to acquired knowledge on how to delivered their responsibility and day to day activities enshrined in the programmes guidelines.”
He however explained that, the training also help to ensure that we implement or carried out the healthier system of the programmes, for ensuring safeguard the poor and disabled in social register were developing.
Also speaking Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar Rube, the Project Coordinator Fadama Zamfara state, encouraged the Safeguard officers especially women to report any gender based violence or any mul treatment during the project implementations.
He however noted that, “honestly, the gender based violence is not equivalent in Zamfara state,its a cardinal requirements for project implementations for the Safeguard officers to be awared on the existence of the brouhaha.
“I appeals to the officers for being calmed from all luxurious and paid much attention to what’s brought them here in Kaduna.”
Addressing the journalist, Mukhtar Garba, the programme Manager, Result Area 3 NG-CARES. Zamfara state Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, explained that, in Zamfara state having cases related to gender based violence due to the culture and religion background.
We realized that women don’t report most of the harassment encountered during the course from either stakeholders nor from the peoples, the training came in the right time that we are moving toward the programmes implementation.
“because our mother’s women feels shame due to religion and our cultural norms to report certain cases that ductriment to gender based violence.”
