The Commissioner of Police in charge of Zamfara state, CP Muhammad Shehu Dalijan has urged people of the state to visit and access the services of the Police Central Motor Registry Office which commenced operation in the state.
The Commissioner charged assigned officers to be professional, and ensure excellent service delivery.
According to a press release issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar,
the Zamfara state Police command office of the Nigeria Police Force revived and digitized Central Motor Registry (CMR) Located at State Police Command Headquarters Gusau.
The office has among other responsibilities of ensuring vehicle owners apply and register their vehicles, resolve registration issues and to facilitate investigations of Vehicle theft and recovery, the statement added.
Similarly, the office will handle issues related to motor vehicle information requests, change of ownership, change of license or number plate, change of chassis number, and change of vehicle colour requests. Additionally,the office will handle issues related to requests for international driver’s permits and international certificates for motor vehicles and pending when the suspended issuance of permits are lifted,the office will also handle issues of tinted glass and spy number plate permits.
The press release explained that the CMR was introduced to ensure security and safety of all kinds of vehicles, including motor vehicles, tricycles, and motorcycles. It will also facilitate the police's seamless and productive investigations of vehicle stealing and related crimes in the state and generally enhances national security.
The Commissioner of police, Cp Mohammed Shehu Dalijan therefore urged the good people of the State to visit the State Command CMR office to register their vehicles, tricycle, motorcycles and to enjoy the other mentioned services so as to ensure security and safety of their vehicles.
