Speaking with newsmen shortly after the court session counsel to the plaintiff said both parties would adopt final written addresses during the next sitting, barrister Galadi, a Counsel to the plaintiff, said the first defendant (APC) has filed a counter affidavit from the originating summon by the plaintiff which statutorily they have three days to reply.
A Counsel to Sani Abdullahi Wanban Shinkafi who is challenging the validity of the Zamfara north APC senatorial primary elections against INEC, APC and the declared winner, Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura, has assured winning the case before the federal high court Gusau presided over by Justice Hussaini Dikko.
“We invoked article 776 of the practice direction of the federal high court pre election 2026 as the first defendant happened to be a party to the matter therefore is entitled to bring the counter affidavit on any matter.
“We have only one pending application for leave to appeal for extension of time to file a stay of execution, the application is pending before the court, therefore will be determined in the next sitting”, barrister Galadi has explained.
The case is adjourned to the 5th of August for adoption of the written addresses and determination of pending applications
