With profound sadness, the Zamfara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) mourns the tragic loss of seven journalists of the Gombe State Council who lost their lives in a fatal road accident. Our heartfelt condolences go to the National Secretariat of the NUJ, the Gombe State NUJ Council, and the families, friends, and professional colleagues of the deceased.
The Zamfara State Council stands in solidarity with the National Executive Council (NEC), the entire NUJ family nationwide, and the Nigerian media community during this painful moment. The dedication, courage, and commitment of the departed journalists to truth, public service, and professional excellence will remain indelible in the annals of journalism.
We pray that Almighty God grants the departed eternal rest and gives their families and loved ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. This unfortunate tragedy is a sober reminder of the need for renewed commitment to road safety and responsible driving, especially for journalists who often gather and report news while on the move.
