Zamfara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has nabbed and paraded a suspected manufacturer of adulterated fertilizer in Gusau.
According to a press release issued by the public relations officer of the command, ASCI Umar Muhammad,
the Zamfara state command, under the supervision and leadership of commandant Sani Mustapha, was committed to reducing elements of criminalities rampaging the socio-economic system of the state. The statement added that proactive measures were taken to efficiently counter the activities of unlawful manufacturing, sales and distribution of adulterated products undermining the agricultural and economic outputs of the state.
The press release further explained that
the suspect, (Mustapha Sani) was apprehended on the 9th May, 2026 in Gusau, Unguwar Dallatu area opposite Investment House. He was arrested in possession of suspected filled counterfeit fertilizer bags loaded for distribution.
It also revealed that a total of five hundred and fifty (550) bags were recovered from the suspect. who
claimed ownership of the fertilizer being a major stakeholder.
The suspect had further named two accomplices, Alh. Sabo Yusuf and Abdurrahman Ibrahim who are at large. Investigation also revealed
they unlawfully manufacture fertilizer with fake
Al-Yuma Fertilizer (NAGARI) trade mark.
The suspects distribute the fake product to locals, retailers and farmers.
The press release reiterated the command’s
uncompromising zero tolerance for criminality, impersonation and/or any unethical vices and that any suspect apprehended shall be thoroughly investigated and arraigned before a competent court of law for prosecution.
