Information Officers in Zamfara State have pledged to enhance dissemination of information on developmental projects executed by the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal.
The pledge was made by the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Information Chapel, Comrade Abubakar Aliyu, during a meeting with the Information Officers at the Vision FM Conference Hall in Gusau.
According to a press release issued by the Secretary of the NUJ Information chapel, Sulaiman Aliyu Gusau,
Comrade Abubakar Aliyu urged members to remain dedicated in publicizing government activities across their various duty posts, emphasizing the need for accurate and effective reportage of policies and projects aimed at improving citizens’ welfare.
He noted that the present administration has recorded notable progress in human development, with programmes executed across ministries, agencies, and parastatals to ensure the people of Zamfara State benefit from the dividends of democracy.
He further called on members to intensify efforts in showcasing government achievements while upholding professionalism, commitment, and proactive engagement.
The Chairman also disclosed plans to equip members with modern media skills, including new media strategies, alongside traditional methods of information dissemination to enhance outreach, particularly to people at the grassroots level.
He added that the Ministry of Information, under the leadership of Alhaji Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa, with the assit of the Permanent Secretary, Muhammad Salihu Anka has been working closely with Information Officers to ensure effective communication of government policies and programmes.
Comrade Abubakar Aliyu expressed appreciation to the Ministry’s management for its continued support to Information Officers.
