Dawakin Tofa (Kano State), Alhaji Isa Danmaliki, the Chairmanship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party ( NNPP) in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, has pledged to introduce all-year-round farming in the area,if elected.
Danmaliki told the Newsmen in Dawakin Tofa on Friday that the initiative was aimed at providing job opportunities for the teaming youths in the area.
He also plans to provide modern farming implements at subsidized rates to farmers, leveraging the area’s vast land to produce assorted food crops for local and international consumption.
He pledged to reverse the trend where residents of the area are migrating to urban centres in search of greener pastures, so as to make farming a sustainable and attractive option.
Danmaliki said his comprehensive blueprint for agriculture development included providing fertilizers and farming implements at the ward level aimed at empowering local farmers.
He also promised to accord priority attention to education, healthcare and agriculture, if elected.
He said that a blue print of action had been worked out to transform the area, if elected.
“We will renovate and equip rural heath centers across the 11 wards with modern healthcare facilities to address the health care needs of our people,” he said.
The chairmanship candidate also pledged that heath workers would be retrained to meet the challenges of providing qualitative health care services at the grassroot level.
“Health care centres and equipping healthcare personnel with advanced knowledge will be provided to improve residents’ health,” he said.
He said that the local administration would upgrade the education sector by providing essential learning materials and eliminating the era of pupils receiving lessons on bare floor.
“We will also provide a platform where
soft loans will be given to residents to boost their businesses and combat poverty.
