The Gusau International Airport is to be ready and completed in February 2026
This was disclosed by the site engineers of the projects Mr Nicholas Khoury in charge of buildings and Mr Nicholas Kfoury in charge of runner ways while conducting the state commissioner of Works and Transport Malam Lawal Barau Bungudu round the airport who paid an inspection visit.
Mr Nicholas khoury who conducted the commissioner round the buildings said the tar mac and control tower are about eighty per cent completion while the fire service is about fifty percent completion.
He assured the commissioner that the work would completed on schedule
While conducting the commissioner round the runner ways which is 4.5km is about seventy percent completion Mr Nicholas Kfoury assured that all works related to runner ways would be completed as per the contractual agreement
Speaking to journalists who accompanied him to the visit . the commissioner expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and commended the contractors handling the projects, assured that zamfara state government would give all the necessary support and cooperation towards the completion of the airport.
Malam Lawal Barau Bungudu said, the airport when fully operational would boast the socio economic well being of the people of the state.He express confidence on governor Dauda Lawal to transform zamfara to a greater hight.
The commissioner also inspected on going township roads in Gusau metropolis
The commissioner was accompanied by all the directors of the ministry.
