Based on the powers conferred on him by the relevant sections of the Zamfara State Security Trust Fund Law, and in order to ensure seamless operations of the Board, His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of Brigadier General Abdulkadir Abubakar Gummi (rtd) as the Acting Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Zamfara State Security Trust Fund.
A public announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammed Nakwada said the appointment takes immediate effect.
The appointee has an illustrious career in the Nigerian Army, rising through the ranks to attain Brigadier General before his retirement. He also served as a member of the Board.
“Based on his credentials, His Excellency is confident that under Brig. Gen. Gummi’s leadership, the Security Trust Fund Board of Trustees, will realize its central mission of mobilizing the necessary resources to strengthen the security architecture and provide the required support to our security forces to effectively prosecute the fight against banditry and related crimes across the state.
“His Excellency extends his best wishes to Brig. Gen. Abubakar Gummi (rtd) in his new role and urges all relevant stakeholders to fully support him in realizing the goals of the Board. The Board is expected to now begin delivering on its mandate to strengthen the security framework and support our security forces in the fight against banditry and other criminalities in all parts of Zamfara State,” Nakwada said.
On behalf of the Government and people of Zamfara state, the SSG thanked the outgoing Chairman of the Board for his service to the state while wishing him success in his future endeavors.
