EMIR OF ZURU CONDEMN THE HUMILIATION OF PROF ZURU, DEMAND FOR JUSTICE.

The Emir of Zuru, General Muhammadu Sani Sami Gomo ll, has in a very strong term, condemned the humiliation of Professor Abdullahi Abdu Zuru a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa state by hoodlums. Professor Zuru was in Adamawa state for the supervision of the 15th April, supplementary elections
General Sami described the action as barbaric, act of political thuggery and unacceptable.
In a statement from the Emir’s Palace signed by Sadaukin Zuru Abdullahi Idris Zuru, the Emir said Professor Zuru who holds the traditinal title of Danmasanin Zuru has devoted his considerable life time so far, in promoting peaceful .d, were capable of truncating the hard-earned democratic evolution the country is witnessing. He maintained that such act should be condemned by all well-meaning and patriotic Nigerians.
While calling on the relevant federal agencies to hasten investigation and proscute the perpetrators of the dastardly act, , General Sami Gomo called on the people of Zuru emirate to remain calm, assured that the Emirate Council under his leadership will do all that is humanly possible to ensure justice for Professor Zuru.
