Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilisation (ACSM) committee has solicited support of Journalists in the state to assist and sensitise the general public on the fourth coming ITN distributions.
The Chairman of the sub-committee, who is also the state Health Educator, Alhaji Kabiru Danja Kurya explained that journalists in Zamfara State are strong partners as far as health issues are concerned. He added that without the support of Journalists,, the state wouldn’t have achieved what it had achieved in various sectors of healthcare delivery in the state.
The support of Journalists through radio and televisions, newspapers and other media outfits contributed immensely in awareness creation, sensitization and other programmes presented by different media houses.
In his response, the Chairman of NUJ correspondent Chapel, Sani Haruna Dutsinma has assured the committee of journalists’ support whenever the need arises and also urged the ACSM committee leadership to always engage Journalists and even a short training for the journalists so that the messages will well captured after undergoing training.
The Secretary of the correspondent Chapel Abdullahi Abdul rahman Cakwa has advised the committee to include NUJ center as of their distribution centers if possible and the request would be put into consideration against next time.
