Zamfara state command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has hosted a delegation of Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), formerly Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), led by the Tax Controller, Sirajo Suleiman to the administrative headquarters, Gusau, on a courtesy visit to intimate and enhance collaboration on minerals royalty collection in the State.
The Tax Controller, Gusau Emerging Tax Office (ETO), Sirajo Suleiman, in his remarks stated, “we are here to familiarize, intimate the command with necessary tax reforms as amended through Nigeria Tax Acts and seek collaborative support from the NSCDC being a key stakeholder of mining enforcement. NRS appreciates the NSCDC as a noble partner empowered by law to aid NRS in minerals royalty collection”.
Head, Business Intelligence, NRS, Muhammad Nura furnished the state command with the basic new tax laws that unified and recognized the Nigeria Revenue Service as the sole tax collector on behalf of the federal government under the Nigeria Tax Act, 2025.
“In view of the aforementioned and mining activities in the state, it is essential to strengthen the relationship by requesting enhanced collaboration to actualize the mandate of mineral royalty payments by both miners and sales executives;” concluded the Tax Controller.
Responding, Commandant Sani Mustapha assured the Tax Controller of the command’s commitment to ensure conformance through the Solid Minerals Defenders and the Mining Marshals; NSCDC, Zamfara state command shall collaborate with NRS constitutionally to ensure compliance to minerals royalty collection.
The state commandant therefore reaffirmed the necessity of continuous collaboration to achieve respective operational mandates. He stressed the command’s willingness to aid Nigeria Revenue Service in regulatory control and compliance.
