this was disclosed by the Commissioner for the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Aisha M.Z. Anka, during an inspection visit to the ongoing renovation and construction work at the Gusau Remand Home.
Speaking during the inspection, Dr. Anka noted that the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal continued to demonstrate purposeful leadership through impactful initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people of Zamfara State.

The Commissioner highlighted that the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has recorded notable achievements under the present administration, particularly in providing increased support to orphanages and vulnerable groups. She emphasized that children whose parents are deceased or untraceable, as well as persons with special needs and other vulnerable individuals, were receiving improved care and support under the “Gamjin Zamfara” administration.
Dr. Anka, who was represented during the visit by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barrister Suwaiba Ibrahim Barau, explained that the transformation of the Gusau Remand Home reflects the government’s strong commitment to assisting and guiding children and adolescents toward a better future.

The ongoing renovation includes the renovation of classrooms, accommodation facilities, a learning centre, construction of clinic and staff offices, all of which are expected to enhance the rehabilitation process.
Dr. Aisha MZ Anka also urged parents, particularly mothers, to closely monitor their children’s behavior and maintain open communication to guide them properly.
