The Zamfara state police command in conjuction with other heads of security agencies and the INEC have strategised on how to beef up security in all the nooks and crannies of the state before, during and after the 2023 general elections.
According to a press release issued by the command’s public relations officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, the mop up operation had commenced as the state Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf led police tactical operatives to Kotorkoshi – Yandoto – Tsafe axis.
The Commissioner of Police assured the general public especially people of Zamfara state that security agencies and other stakeholders authorized to play a role in the elections are jointly working in synergy to ensure smooth conduct of the elections.
To further strenthen the existing security emplacement, the Commissioner of Police directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police officers (DPOs) to adopt same initiatives in their respective juridictions, calling on members of the public to continue to partner with the Police and other security agencies to make the state conducive for free, fair and peaceful elections.
