Zamfara state Government has disclosed that ,it has all it takes to qualify for the enlistment in to the phase two of the Special agro processing zones project in the state,
The commissioner for Agriculture Alh ya u Haruna Gamji disclosed this while receiving a field mission of officials from the SAPz, Africa Development bank, and the Federal ministry of finance who were in the state for on the spot assessment of facilities that will qualify zamfara state for the SAPz project.
The commissioner disclosed that, zamfara is endowed with untapped abundant Natural resources and Agricultural potentials that need to be exploited, he informed the delegation that, since from the pre colonial era, zamfara is known world over in Agricultural production, processing and marketing ,and assured of the maximum supports from the state government.
The leader of the delegation Alh Bashir Ibrahim gaya from the Africa development bank, said the delegation were In the state to access it’s readiness and commitment to enlist in to the phase two of the project, he disclosed that the Federal Government in partnership with other development finance institutions are implementing the SAPz project aim to develop Agricultural value chain and promote food processing, value addition, and local, international trade in food.
He further stated that, if zamfara state qualify the project will provide an opportunity to create quality jobs especially for youth and women, and provision of infrastructures and food security.
The officials were conducted round the Bakolori irrigation scheme , yar geda farm center and other potential areas required for the project..
