The Zamfara State Coordinator of the Government Enterprises and Empowerment Program (GEEP). Hajiya Sadiya Bello has concluded a two-day inspection tour of skills acquisition training centers currently under renovation in Gusau, Tsafe, Kaura Namoda, Talata Mafara, Anka,and Maradun Local Government Areas.
The tour is part of the preparations for the commencement of Phase One of the skills acquisition training under the GEEP program, which is set to empower people in the state.. Hajiya Sadiya Bello briefly meet with the council chairmen and congratulated them over their victory at the polls, and also intimated them about the program and also discussed the logistical arrangements and expected outcomes of the program, she also commended the contributions of all stakeholders for their supports to the program
During her visit, she solicited the support of the local government chairmen to ensure the smooth roll-out of the program. In turn, the chairmen pledged their full cooperation and commitment to facilitating the success of the program within their respective localities
During her visit, she expressed satisfaction with the contractors’ work on the project and urged them to adhere to the specifications. She also emphasized the need to expedite the work to ensure the training program commences within the stipulated timeframe.
The chairmen praised the initiative and commended His Excellency’s support for the renovation of the centers. They noted that the decision to renovate comes at an opportune time, given the centers dilapidated state from years of underutilization. That the renovation works are expected to create a conducive learning environment for the trainees.
The coordinator was accompanied by the Director of Administration, Alh. Sanusi Mohammed Lawal, the Director of Trainings Engineer Rufai Dan Aba, Director of Finance Alh Zayyanu sayyadi and other senior officials from the GEEP. The program is expected to enhance the livelihoods of many Zamfara residents by equipping them with valuable skills for self-sufficiency and empowerment.
This visit marks a significant step towards the successful implementation of ‘GEEP’s Phase One. reinforcing the state’s commitment to tackling unemployment and promoting sustainable development through skills training.
