The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, Cp Muhammad Shehu Dalijan has on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, presented cheques of one hundred and thirty-four million, five hundred and fifty thousand, eight hundred and twenty four naira eighty-six kobo to twenty-five families of deceased Police officers, who lost their lives in active service.
A press release issued by the command’s public relations officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar indicated that the cheques issued were part of the IGP’S welfare initiative under the Group Personal Accident, Group Life Insurance, and IGP Family Welfare Schemes of the Force.
CP MD Shehu therefore reiterated the determination and commitment of the IGP towards ensuring that the welfare of members of the force, whether dead or alive, is paramount. He advised that the beneficiaries of these cheques use the money judiciously in ameliorating their academic and other financial needs.
However, he prayed for peace and eternal rest of the gentle souls of the departed officers and may almighty Allah give their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Hauwau Ibrahim and Lawrence Douglas who spoke on behalf of other recipients appreciated the effort of the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command on behalf of other beneficiaries for the gesture and promised to make good use of the money given to them.
