zamfara PDP decries arbitrary arrests of its stakeholders

The acting Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party in zamfara has at a press conference in Gusau decried the continued harassment and arrests of its members and stakeholders in state .
Alhaji Muktar Lugga the PDP acting chairman stated that their coming to the state was a home coming of its chieftain Dr Dauda Lawan Dare Gamjin Gusau whohas the constitutional right to visit his state anytime any day
He disclosed that notices were given to all relevant stakeholders and authorities in the state for the visit pointing out that the visit was not illegal as the ruling party APC claimed saying if they have doubts they are free to seek redress in the court
Alhaji Mukhtar further buttressed that the PDP as a political party has large followers and.matured supporters whose political rights should be respected.
The chairman said what is happening in zamfara state is an attack on democracy and show of force on law abiding citizens of the state to stop them from exercising their freedom of expression and free will to choice their leaders
He stated that in recent times the ruling party APC had attacked our offices and vandalized our vehicles in the state
He called on their members to remain calm and be law abiding assuring them that PDP was ever ready to take over reigns of power from APC in the state so as deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of zamfara state. The acting party leader advised the state government to concentrate on developmental projects to salvage the poor socio-econmic condition of the state. He also emphasized the urgent need for the state government to address the security problems facing the state instead of suppressing political opponents.
