The Nigeria Union of Journalists Zamfara state council has inaugurated two standing committees to help in piloting the affairs of the council.
Speaking during the inauguration,the chairman of the council comrade Ibrahim Maizare said the committees are of importance to the council as they could help in regulating the activities of the members.
He charged members of the committees to discharged their responsibilities with out fear or favor and called on members of the union to be realign with their duties as journalists to a avoid sensational reporting.
He expressed his determination to provide quality leadership to the union that would cater for each member of the council.
He said the union would train and retrained journalists for optimal performance particularly in new digital journalism practice with up to date facilities.
Also speaking during the event the senior special assistant to His excellency governor Dauda Lawal on Media and communication Malam Mustapha Jafaru Kaura said the government has approved the reconstruction of new Nuj Secretariat to provide conducive environment for working journalists in the state and urged journalists to reciprocate by reporting government activities correctly.
The committees inaugurated are Ethics and displinary committee and Education committee
The ethics and disciplinary committee is headed by Tanko Khalil with Ibrahim Garba Tunau, Kefas Dogon yaro,Adamu Sani Katuru, Aisha Jao and Ibrahim kanoma as members while Haliru MB vice chairman would serve as secretary and Education committee is headed by Ahmad Sani Tsafee
