Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zamfara State Command, has reiterated its commitment to support the national malaria elimination programme and the state ministry of health in their fight against malaria in the state.
Commandant Sani Mustapha gave the assurance when he addressed the members of the Advocacy group from the Ministry of Health in Zamfara State in conjunction with the Roll Back Malaria Partiners. Commandant Sani Mustapha reiterated that, the security of life and properties of the group is sacrosanct and must not be compromised.
Commandant Sani Mustapha who was represented by the Command’s 2ic and head of Administration, Deputy Commandant Garba Musa, revealed that the Corps is saddled with the responsibilities of ensuring a good health and crisis management in the society. He therefore assured the group of the total support of the Corps in Zamfara State in ensuring that the distribution of Insecticide Treated Nets in the 14 Local Government Areas of the State is done successfully.
Earlier, the advocacy team leader, Barrister Bashir Garba who is the Chairman of the team, commended the assistance the Corps had rendered in the past in similar exercises. He however solicited for the holistic participation of the Corps in all facets of the Insecticide Treated Nets distribution program which is to commence on the 25th November 2023 to all nooks and cranies of the state.
In the same vein, Mr Kingsley Godson who represents the Roll Back Malaria Partiners, spoke on the need to avail the team with security coverage right from loading of the vehicles to distribution stage.
He appealed for a maximum collaboration with the Corps before, during and after the program.
Commandant Sani Mustapha has assured the group of the Corps’ maximum cooperation throughout the exercise.
