In a demonstration of its commitment to religious inclusivity and social empowerment, the Zamfara State Ministry of Religious Affairs has extended financial and educational support to Mrs. Maryam Emmanuel, an Idoma woman who embraced Islam. The ministry donated the sum of ₦300,000 to assist her in establishing a small-scale business that will help sustain her and her family.
The official presentation of the donation was made by the State commissioner Hon Sulaiman Adamu Gummi who was able represented by the permanent secretary of the Ministry Malan Garba Altine Dauran on behalf of the state government.
During the presentation ceremony, held at the weekly preaching sessions in Gusau, Alhaji Haidara praised Mrs. Emmanuel for her courage and resilience. He urged her to make prudent use of the funds in order to uplift her family’s standard of living.
“The Zamfara State Government remains dedicated to fostering a society where individuals of all backgrounds and faiths are supported and empowered,” he said. “This gesture is part of our broader initiative to support new converts, promote peaceful coexistence, and strengthen economic self-reliance within our communities.”
In addition to the financial grant, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has awarded educational scholarships to Mrs. Emmanuel’s children, covering their school fees and other academic needs. This comprehensive support package underscores the state’s inclusive approach to governance and its belief in the power of education to break the cycle of poverty.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Mrs. Maryam expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the state government for the assistance rendered. “I am deeply thankful to the Zamfara State Government and the Ministry of Religious Affairs for their kindness and generosity,” she said. “This support is a blessing to me and my children. I will use this opportunity to build a better future for my family and contribute meaningfully to the society.”
The Zamfara State Ministry of Religious Affairs reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to providing support for marginalized groups and promoting harmony among all ethnic and religious communities in the state.
