The zamfara state government will settle all the outstanding gratuities owed local government retirees from 2011 to date.
This was announced by the Permanent Secretary, ministry for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Garba Ahmad Gusau who is also the chairman verification and payment committee of local government retirees’ gratuity while briefing journalists on the performance of his committee in his office.
He said the state government has since commenced the payment of the first batch of 2011,2012and2013which has since been verified .
He said so far over 500 million naira has been paid to over 495 workers already verified . He further said the 2014 ,2015and2016 2017 have also been verified awaiting payment very soon subsequently the remaining years of2018,2019 ,2020,2021,2022 and 2023 would follow suit .
Alhaji Garba expressed satisfaction with the way and manner the excise was going as all payment would be paid on time .
He called on the beneficiaries to make proper use of the money for their benefits for the overall interest families and the society .
He appealed to the people of the state to support the rescue mission of the state governor Dauda Lawal that are aim at salvaging Zamfara From its present situation .
He said the committee was given one month to complete its assignments ,he said all deaths benefits would be paid through the courts.
