Zamfara Govt Plans to Distribute Free Livestock to Women

The Zamfara state government has concluded arrangements to distribute free livestock to women in the state.
This was disclosed to journalists by state program Coordinator of Fadama lll, Ismael Abubakar Ribe in an interview in his office in Gusau while giving update on the recent distribution of fertilizer and other farm input to farmers across the 147wards of the state as part of palliatives to farmers.
He said eight farmers’ association were selected from each ward who are to benefit from the gesture with the exception of Gusau local government where sixteen associations were selected.
He further said already the Executive Governor, Dauda Lawal has embarked on launching the fertilizer distribution in the local governments areas with a view to reach the targeted people.
He said substantial number of goats would be distributed to women free to cushion the effect of hardship being faced by women in the rural areas as palliatives.
He said Zamfara state government is seriously concerned with the plight of the rural dwellers particularly women hence for the need for the gesture.
Ismail further disclosed that each beneficiary would be given 3 goats , 2 female and a male for them to multiply and bring succur to the beneficiaries.
He said all necessary arrangements and mechanism have been put in place to ensure that only the targeted beneficiaries are capture as serious verification has been done.
