The zamfara state government has donated #20m to the families of the recently affected boat accident that clime ten lives in the local government .
This was announced by the deputy governor of the state Malam Mani Mummuni when paid condolence visit to the families of the victims at the emir’s palace in Gummi town.
He said the state government is saddened by the unfortunate incident and call on families of the victims to bear lost as it is the act of God.
The deputy governor stated that the government would consider upgrading the water transport by way of purchasing modern boat to be use in transporting people across water ways in the state.
He prayed for the reposed of the souls of the deceased and the family the fortitude to bear the lost.
In his response the emir of Gummi rtd Justice Lawal Hassan Gummi said there was misconception as for the number of casualties.he said there 20 people in the boat 10 died while 7 sustain various degree of injuries and 3 people are still missing.
The emir assured that the donation would be handed over to the affected families.
