The zamfara first lady Hajia Huraiya Dauda Lawal has appeal to journalists to assist in mobilizing the general public on integrated campaign for measles rubella and polio vaccination schedule to begin on Monday.
Hajia Huraiya Dauda made the appeal during a strategic media dialogue with journalists, social media influencers, and U_reporters focusing on the integrated campaign for measles Rubella and polio vaccination held at polio emergency operations center in Gusau.
Hajia Huraiya describe journalists as partners in progress who can play a vital role in mobilizing and sensitizing the people towards the desired objective
The first lady who was represented by the executive secretary primary health care board Doctor Hussaini Anka said zamfara is fully prepared for the excise and determine to mobilize all the necessary resources and personal for the success of the program.
She said all the state health care facilities would be use from primary health centers, secondary and tertiary health facilities.
Hajia Huraiya said the state has already form several committees in collaboration with UNICEF,WHO , Sultan foundation and several donor agencies to ensure every child in the state is capture.
She further said already all the personal who are going to be involved has been trained and 1280 teams have been form to handle the program in 700 to primary health centers in the 147 wards across the state which includes those to administer the vaccine, health educators, supervisors and several facilitators.
Huraiya said, traditional rulers , Islamic scholars CBO’s and relevant stake holders have been involved in mobilizing the entire state.
She said the vaccines are going to be administer in schools, play ground and house to house as state government has committed a lot of resources for the success of the program.
