President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally endorsed former Chairman House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence, Hon Aminu Sani Jaji as the consensus candidate for the 10th Assembly Speaker.
Jaji who is former Director General Contact and Mobilization Tinubu/Shettima Presidential campaign Council (North-west), and also the National Coordinator Baba For All, was favoured for the exalted office by the President-elect and some critical stakeholders of the party.
Credible sources within Tinubu’s camp said the information was communicated to Hon Jaji after a series of meetings held in Abuja beetwen the President-Elect and some critical stakeholders, including party officials in attendance.
Recall that that the President-Elect had on Wednesday 26 Aprill,2023, met with Hon. Jaji for about two hours behind closed door.
Sources said the meeting, which was at the instance of President-elect, was said to have adopted Hon. Jaji due to his outstanding performance both as chairman of House Committee on National Security and intelligence and the Director General Contact and Mobilization (North-west).
Confirming the story, a source at the APC secretariat and a member of the National Working Committee (NWC), said Hon. Jaji was favoured ahead of other contenders because of his track record, loyalty, and his contribution to the party both at the state and national level.
According to him, among all the contestants for the speakership, there is nobody that has contributed to the success of Tinubu/Shettima in the build up and after the elections like Hon Jaji so for us members of the party it is payback time” he stressed.
