From Abba Kabara, Gusau.
Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, a former senator APC representing Zamfara Central, has condemn in strong terms the shameful act of looting and vandalizing residences of APC members allegedly by sponsored PDP youths In the state capital Gusau.
Marafa, who was the Tinibu’s state Campaign coordinator during the just concluded general elections, made the pronouncement yesterday, explaining that soon after INEC declaration of PDP Candidate, Hon. Dauda Lawan Dare, large group of PDP youth begun to target residences of APC members for organized looting and vandalization.
In the process he said, “huge amount of properties were looted, while physical structures like buildings were damaged, which in some instances, were reduced to rubbles”, he laments.
Marafa observes that this vandal attitude is far from being human; “it is far away from democracy”, explaining that no rational and sane parson would consider this behavior as a victory celebration.
He said “as for me, I have a reserve of thousands of Atampa and brocade bales of clothings, intended for distribution to the needy and the less privileged, but regratably, all these and other valuables were lost to the vandals”,
He said that residences and offices of number of other APC personalities were also looted and vandalized under the pretext of victory jubilation.
Marafa expressed regrate that despite all this inhuman and undemocratic attitude exhibited by the PDP elements in the state, “there is still no statement from the PDP leadership to indicate concern or sympathy over the incidence” he said.
“The APC ruling party had earlier won the presidential election which calls for a bigger celebration, but not a single residence was looted or vandalized or lives lost” he stressed, advising those concerned and the security organs to do justice about the ugly incidence.
