Zamfara State First Lady, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda, the wife of Governor Dauda Lawal has been commended for distributing foodstuff and fabrics to Zamfara women and vulnerable.
The People’s Democratic Party Zamfara State Women Leader, Hajiya Rabi Madawaki made the commendation today in a chat with newsmen in Gusau.
She said, the commendation became necessary considering the fact that, her Excellency Huriya Dauda has put smiles in the faces of women by giving them food and fabrics to ease the difficulties during the holy month of Ramadan and sallah celebration
According to the Women leader, “I was with her Excellency and we toured the fourteen local government areas, where we doled out this gesture to thousands of women.
“During our visit even some villages that are very close to the road, she will tell us to stop and paid them unscheduled visit, and we usually give women in a any given community Rice and Beans, Maize, Sorghum and millet, defending on the one’s luck.
Hajiya Rabi also, made it clear that so many Women in the state have benefited from cash donation of fifty thousand naira so that they can create a small business that will help them to become self reliant,
According to her, since the creation of Zamfara State she has never seen a wife of a Governor in this state who render such assistant to women, its only Huriyya break the record.
She then called on beneficiaries of the gesture to use what they were given judiciously
Also speaking, some women who benefited from the gesture have shown their gratitude to the governor’s wife for empowering them with money, to have a small business and promised to use the money judiciously.
They also thanked the Zamfara PDP Women Leader Hajiya Rabi Madawaki for her efforts in ensuring that women in the state have been treated equally, and also be given what ever she was sent to them.
