The new Sole Administrator of Gusau local government area, Eng Yahaya Garba has assumed duty with a shocking revelation of staff absenteeism from duty.
Receiving comprehensive hand-over notes on assumption of duty, the new Sole Administrator, Eng. Yahaya Garba, discovered that only 50 out of over 2700 employees report for duty regularly.
The Director Administration of the council, Alhaji Aminu Garba Samaru had explained that the existing administrative structure of the council has nine departments. He added that the total number of employees of the local government payroll was 2768 including staff of the two Area Development Councils (ADC) of Magami and Mada.
Eng.Yahaya Garba had emphasized his commitment to work hard with a view to assist the people in the area develop their potentials.
The new Sole Administrator had similarly resolved to protect the interest and meaningful intention of Dr Dauda Lawal towards the people in the state.
He emphasized
that he came to Gusau Local government as sole Administrator purposely to work hard with view to protect and accomplish the rescue mission of Dr Dauda Lawal.
Eng.Yahaya Garba said it was unfortunate that out of the 2768 employees of the government on its payroll, only 50 of them report for duty regularly.
He warned that his administration will not condone inefficiency and absenteeism from duty. He added that, ” if you want to work, you must came to office everyday, if not, millions of people are jobless in Gusau, seeking for job.”
He thanked the Director Administration of Gusau local government for the cooperation given to him during the handover and takeover process by compiling comprehensive hand over noted.
Eng yahaya Garba also said it was very sad to discover that he assumed duty without a conducive office of Sole Administrator. He therefore assured that, ” we are going to work hard to ensure all the office problem has been solved within a short period of time.”
In his earlier speech, the Director Administration and General Service, Alhaji Aminu Garba Samaru expressed pleasure of the staff of the local government who received and welcomed the new Sole Administrator. of Gusau Local government.
The Director disclosed how the local government council had been doing everything possible to address issues of insecurity in the local government area with its little resources.
He then wished the new leader success In the discharge of his responsibility.
