The national institute of public relations in collaboration with local government service commission has organize a 3-day training workshop to enhance their capacity in modern technics in information dessimination.
The workshop with the theme; managing information dessimination in challenging environment;
Declaring the workshop open, the state deputy governor Malam Mani Malam Mummuni ably represented by the Head of service Yakubu Sani Haidara mni said the training program was designed to improve skills of local government of information officers in dessimination of information in line with best practices particularly in new era technics.
He said,we are living in an environment where news travels faster than verification, when opinion are often mistaken for truth and when the credibility of government commitment is constantly tested by misinformation, rumors and mischief.
He further said, information officers serve multiple role of messengers, guardian of truth as well as interpreters of government mission
Malam Mummuni said, the training goes beyond just a workshop rather it is a strategic reawakening to strengthen the ability to understand modern communication dynamic to navigate on challenges of the digital space and to projects the government programs in ways that resonate with the needs, concerned and aspiration of the people.
He emphasize that objective of the training is deepen expertise in dessimination technics and reinforce professionalism public.
In his good will message the president of NIPR Dr Ike Neliaku said the gathering reflects a shared commitment to strengthening grassroots communication and enhancing the professionalism of public information management across the local government system.
He further said the workshop to align with core functions, particularly in promoting professional development and setting benchmarks for public communication, all participants are required to be sent to the Institute for formal courses (where necessary) and induction.
The President was represented by Dr Lawal Maradun a fellow of the institute
He commend the organisers of the programme for investing in this critical training, and we encourage all participants to maximize the opportunity to deepen their understanding of strategic communication, crisis management, media relations, and community engagement.
In his remarks the commissioner for local government Alhaji Garba Yandi pleag to ensure that all necessary steps would be taken to register all local information officers with the institute to enhance human capacity as part of government efforts to ensure professionalism in spares of government activities.
In his welcome address, the chairman of NIPR in zamfara Bello Abdullahi said the institute would continue to partners in government programs and activities for the progress of zamfara state.
