The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC under its Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani today held an emergency SWC meeting and reviewed the provocation by Mustapha Jafaru Kaura against its leaders who needs to be called to order.
The meeting condemned the lies peddled by the Zamfara State Government against the APC leaders in the state more especially against the Minister of State for Defence Bello Mohammed Matawalle on very sensitive issues which need to be investigated.
The callousness of Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, spokesman to Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal characterised by open insults, character assassination and direct abuse of APC Zamfara State chapter chieftains particularly the state party leader and current Minister of State for Defence, former governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle as well as the former governor now Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar can no longer be tolerated by the All Progressives Congress APC in the state.
Recent outpouring by Mustapha Jafaru Kaura that over 300 students of GSS, Kankara, in the bordering state of Katsina were whisked into the forest at gunpoint on 11 December, 2020 by a gang of armed bandits and indeed many kidnappings followed a deliberate collaboration between former governor Bello Mohammed Matawallen now Minister of State for Defence and the bandits will be met with court action to be filed by the party for Kaura to provide all the details of his assertions.
The governor’s spokesman even went further to alledge that Matawalle collected the sum of N300 million from his Katsina State counterpart, former governor Aminu Bello Masari in the name of facilitating the release of the victims, out of which he said, Matawalle only gave the criminals N30 million.
The APC which fought Zamfara bandits to their enclaves during Matawalle’s four years term as governor, is taking exception to these claims and has directed its legal team to drag the governor’s spokesman to court, not for him to retract his public outburst which he made through an online social media tv video clip but to confirm and give details on all the allegations he made especially on the 2020 Kankara students kidnap and the other kidnappings which he said were ‘prearranged’ like he said he knows.
Mustapha Jafaru Kaura must also prove and give details of the kidnappings of the over 270 female students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara State who were abducted by bandits on the 26 February, 2021 and rescued by Matawalle in just two days after, students of Kaya in Maradun local government area were also rescued by Matawalle as well as students from the College of Agriculture and Animal Science in Bakura, Zamfara State.
The party will also consider joining the platform used in the interview, Maibiredi TV in the case, as both the interviewee and the interviewer seemed to be going through a prepared document in order to achieve their set objective.
Recall that during his administration, Matawalle’s government provided immediate support to all banditry affected communities and always visited any community that was attacked including Gwaram in Talata Mafara, Kanoma in Maru, kaya , faru and Janbako in Maradun, Lilo in Gusau Local government and the headquarters of Anka, Bukkuyum local government areas just to mention but a few.
Mustapha Jafaru Kaura also said Matawalle is not thankful to the Almighty Allah and is under ‘hallucinations’, we will demand concrete reasons and explanations for these too so as to know where he is coming from with these direct attacks including belittling the offices occupied by Matawalle and Distinguished Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.
The APC as a party is already taking action and urges the state party leader, former governor and Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle not to interfere but allow justice take its full course.
We are calling on all our members and supporters to continue to remain calm believing that with these actions, justice will be done.
The PDP Government is trying to hide its failure and create tension in the state in the name of politics because of the escalation of insecurity under its administration led by Dauda Lawal.
The outburst by the Dauda Lawal led administration to accuse the minister of collaboration is a sign of fear of the Minister’s growing acceptance and support from the people of the state and this cannot stop him from doing good to his party and the people of the state.
We are following all the PDP evil plans against our leaders and we will continue to checkmate them up to 2027 where and when people of the state will vote them out alongside their rescue of deceit.
