Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has stressed the importance of political unity among all APC members preparatory to this year’s general elections to ensure absolute victory at the polls.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu re-echoed the advice of the Director-General, APC Campaign Council, former Governor, Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari who emphasised on unity of purpose of APC supporters as paramount component for success.
According to a press release issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Abubakar Mu’azu Dskingari, g overnor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was speaking at the Gwandu Local Government Secretariat, Gwandu, at the distribution of empowerment materials to youths and women in the area by the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, Alhaji Faruq Madugu Gwandu.
The Chairman, Progressives Governors’ Forum, solicited for massive votes for all APC candidates at federal and state levels in the forthcoming elections for continuity and sustenance of socio-economic growth.
He commended the donor of the items, Alhaji Faruq Madugu Gwandu for his benevolence and magnanimity which enhanced the living condition of the people in Gwandu local government area.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu also thanked the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, CON who influenced the employment of Faruq Madugu into the Sokoto River Rima Basin Development Authority, describing the Minister as source of wealth and development pouring into Kebbi state.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu remarked that he hoped that in the near future, Abubakar Malami would became the President or Vice President of Nigeria.
The Governor once again expressed profound gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for releasing the necessary financial requirement for the execution of socio-economic programmes in Kebbi state.
In a remark, the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, CON, was glad that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has teamed up with him to accelerate the development of Kebbi state in all sectors of human endeavour.
The minister urged Nigerians to turn out en masse to cast their votes for the APC for sustainability of good governance.
The Director-General Kebbi State APC Campaign Council, former Governor, Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari, expressed delight about the dividends of democracy being enjoyed by the citizenry under the APC administration.
Alhaji Sa’idu Dakingari requested all APC stakeholders and supporters to strengthen brotherliness among themselves as well as embark on vigorous campaign to solicit for votes for the party to clinch victory in this year’s polls.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the District Head of Gwandu, Sarkin Gabas, Alhaji Zayyanu Muhammadu Bello, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Rt. Hon. Items distributed to youths and women by the benefactor were deep freezers, sewing machines, grinding machines, hair saloon equipment, washing machines and males barbing materials.
Present on the occasion were, the Chairman APC Elders’ Forum, Alhaji Sani Zauro Hukuma, the Kebbi State APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi, retired Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs, Abubakar Gari Mallam, retired Deputy Comptroller-General of Correctional Service, Umaru Saraki, former Member of the House of Representatives, Abdullahi Umar Muslim, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Abubakar Nayaya, the Special Adviser on Power to the Governor, Alhaji Yusuf Haruna Rasheed, Sardaunan Gwandu, the District Heads of Masama, Dalijan and Kambaza, government officials, politicians as well as youths and women groups.
At the event, special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the son of former Defence Minister, Barrister Abba Dr. Bello Haliru who passed away of an illness in Abuja on Friday night.
KEBBI GOV CONDOLES FAMILY OF LATE ISLAMIC CLERIC
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state in company of former Governor Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari, Deputy APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida and APC State Chairman, Abubakar Kana Zuru had condoled with the family of an Islamic Scholar, Mallam Bashar Wuro-Maliki who died on Tuesday.
A press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari stated that former Governor Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari who is also Director General of APC Campaign Council, described late Islamic Cleric as God fearing, renown Islamic Fulfulde Schoalr who his vacuum difficult to fill.
Late Malam Bashar Wuro-Maliki departed the world of an illness at the age of 77 leaving behind one wife and seven children.
Responding, a younger brothers of the deceased, Mallam Garba Wuro-Maliki, Amiru Wuro-Maliki, Alhaji Aliyu Jagaba, Alhaji Bello Dankane and Mallam Umar thanked the Governor for the condolence visit, praying Allah to reward him abundantly.
Late Bashar Wuro-Maliki performed Fulfulde Tafsir at Emir of Gwandu Juma’at Mosque during Ramadan period and ran programme in Fulfulde on various Radio and television stations.
