The federal ministry for agriculture and food security has distributed palliative to livestock rearers affected by flood disaster in Zamfara state.
Flagging up the distribution, the state Co-ordinator of the ministry in the state, Dr Adamu Abubakar stated that the palliative was meant to support livestock rearers although it would not equate the loss, but it served as a demonstration of recognition to the importance of livestock production in the economy, it was also to show that the Federal Government recognises their importance. The Co-ordinator equally pledged that more palliative was in the pipeline.
He then called on the beneficiaries to make the best use of the support.
In his address, the Permanent Secretary Zamfara state ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, Alh Garba Aliyu Gayari said, the post disaster palliative was timely considering the negative impact of flood and cattle rustling that dislodged communities known for livestock production across the state. He therefore thanked the federal ministry of agriculture and food security for the intervention.
In a remark ,the chairman of the livestock rearers in Zamfara state, Alh Sani Dahiru Kaura appreciated the Government for providing succour to their members in the state,
and pledged the association’s readiness to support the Federal Government in ensuring food sufficiency in the country.
Each of the one hundred beneficiaries benefitted from 6Bags of Animal feed, Salt lick and cash.
