Following the declaration of state of emergency on the health sector by Zamfara state Governor, Dr Dauda Lawal, the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aisha M.Z. Anka in her efforts to achieve government’s objectives has constituted various health committees comprising various health sectors under the Ministry, NLC, TUC and professional bodies in the state.
The Commissioner said she sought the permission of the Executive Governor on the need to establish an emergency action plan main committee and sub-committees with the terms of reference, membership and time frame for them to produce an action plan implementation frame work in order to improve the deplorable situation in the health sector in the state.
Dr. Aisha M.Z. constituted “Zamfara State Health Sector Reform” as main committee which will direct, over see and monitor the movement of sub-committees.
The Honourable Commissioner named the sub-committees as follows;
Human Resource for Health, Health Facility Infrastructure,
Basic Healthcare Services Delivery,
Health care financing and Drug and Supply Chain Management Committees.
Dr. Aisha M.Z. Anka has charged the sub-committees and declared that she knows and was aware of the expertise brought in each committee and also believe that no stone will be left unturned unless the desired goals are achieved.
She emphasised that collective efforts and commitment from the members of the committees will surely improve the healthcare sector from its current deplorable status with enormous problems to a more accessible, affordable to a better and quality service delivery.
She hoped and prayed for the committees, through their gigantic efforts to at end of the day produce positive results for the state.
