Former governor of Zamfara state and serving Defence Minister of state, Bello Mohammed Matawalle has enjoined his political supporters to be ready for a welcome back reception for him as elected governor.
The former governor made the remarks while addressing his teeming supporters who visited him at his county home in Maradun recently to welcome and congratulate him on the Appeal Court’s inconclusive verdict on Zamfara state gubernatorial election. He maintained that the eventual victory of the party at the Supreme Court will ensure its supporters’ return to the status quo and they may get arrears of their denied entitlements by the government of Dauda Lawal.
Bello Matawale, in an audio clip which had gone viral on social media flatforms was heard praising the patience and resilience of his political supporters whom he said were politically victimized because of their support for him. He stressed that following the recent legal victory by the party, they should intensify praying for the final success of the legal battle at the Supreme Court.
The former governor maintained that he was very aware of the extreme hardship they were going through due to the political misfortune that afflicted the party. He recalled that his tenure had evolved various social welfare strategies that tremendously assisted the general public and party supporters who enjoyed easy livelihood.
The Minister expressed gratitude and appreciation for their support and loyalty to him and the party during happy and hard times. He noted that their goodwill and prayers contributed immensely in the party’s success at the Appeal Court.
The former governor declared that he could have stayed quietly in Abuja had it not been for the supporters’ miserable and pathetic condition which needed salvation. He expressed optimism about the final outcome of the legal tussle and urged them to be ready for a welcome back reception.
