A clean energy solutions company, NU Synergy, has inaugurated a Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, vehicle conversion and refuelling centre along Zaria Road, Kano State, in a major push to expand access to affordable fuel alternatives and advance cleaner transportation in the state.
The media coordinator NU synergy, Zainab Shuaibu Abdullahi stated this in a statement issued to Journalists in Kano on Sunday.
The facility, founded by Malam Najashi Ubah, is designed to provide vehicle owners, commercial drivers and transport operators with professional CNG conversion services and refuelling infrastructure as an alternative to conventional petrol-powered transportation.
The inauguration ceremony attracted prominent government officials and key stakeholders in the transportation and energy sectors, including the National Coordinator of the Presidential CNG Initiative, Barrister Ismael Ahmad, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Commissioner for Transportation, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi.
Speaking at the event, government representatives commended NU Synergy for its investment in CNG infrastructure and its contribution to expanding access to alternative fuel options in Kano, highlighting the growing interest in CNG as a means of reducing transportation costs and supporting the transition to cleaner energy.
The centre is expected to offer a range of services including CNG vehicle conversion for eligible vehicles seeking to transition from petrol to gas, CNG refuelling for converted vehicles, safety checks and after-sales support to promote safe operation and reliable performance, as well as customer advisory services to guide private motorists, commercial drivers and transport operators on CNG adoption and usage.
According to the company, the facility will also provide safety inspections and advisory services to help vehicle owners understand CNG technology, its safe use and potential benefits.
The event brought together transport union leaders, traffic management officials, vehicle owners and other industry stakeholders, underscoring the importance of collaboration among government, private-sector investors and transport operators in expanding alternative energy infrastructure.
As Nigeria continues to explore solutions to rising transportation costs and environmental sustainability, private-sector investments in CNG infrastructure are expected to play a crucial role in improving access to alternative fuels and supporting a more diversified transportation energy market.
For NU Synergy, the company said the inauguration represents a practical investment in that transition, with a focus on bringing CNG conversion and refuelling services closer to motorists in Kano and surrounding communities.
