The Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi (Matawallen Bukkuyum), has officially declared the 2026 Batch “B” Stream II National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Course open for Corps Members deployed to the state.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the UBE Training Centre, Gusau, the Deputy Governor congratulated the Corps Members on the successful completion of their academic programmes and their mobilisation for the national service.
He described their mobilisation as a reward for years of dedication and hard work, assuring them of the warm hospitality of the people of Zamfara State.
“Your presence here today is a testament to years of hard work and commitment to achieving your educational goals. On behalf of the Government and the good people of Zamfara State, I congratulate you and warmly welcome you to our dear state,” he said.
The Deputy Governor described Zamfara as a state blessed with abundant natural resources and a rich cultural heritage, noting that its people are known for their hospitality, peaceful coexistence, and strong communal values. He encouraged the Corps Members to feel at home and take advantage of the opportunities available throughout their service year.
His Excellency commended the valuable contributions of previous Corps Members to critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and community development. He urged the new batch to build on those achievements by making meaningful and lasting contributions to the development of their host communities.
Highlighting the important role of the NYSC in Nigeria’s democratic process, the Deputy Governor noted that, Corps Members have consistently served with distinction as ad hoc officials for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), thereby enhancing the credibility, transparency, and integrity of elections across the country.
As the nation prepares for the 2027 General Elections, he called on Corps Members who may be selected for election duties to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, integrity, patriotism, and a strong sense of national service.
He further reminded the Corps Members that, the service year offers a unique opportunity for personal growth, leadership development, skills acquisition, and selfless service to humanity.
He urged them to participate actively in all camp activities, particularly the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme, which is designed to equip them with practical skills for self-reliance after service. And also advised them to obey camp regulations and embrace the core values of discipline, teamwork, patriotism, leadership, and selfless service.
He reaffirmed the Zamfara State Government’s commitment to supporting the NYSC Scheme and assured the management of the state’s continued cooperation toward the successful implementation of its objectives.
He therefore, encouraged the Corps Members to be worthy ambassadors of their families, educational institutions, and the nation by demonstrating integrity, discipline, hard work, and commitment to service throughout their stay in Zamfara State.
The Deputy Governor thereafter officially declared the 2026 Batch “B” Stream II NYSC Orientation Course open in Zamfara State.
