The suit filed by Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi a Senatorial candidate Zamfara north, against INEC, APC, Sahabi Ya’u Kaura for improper primaries has four pending application and motions filed by the counsel to the plaintiff, barrister Bello Idris Galadi at the court
Barrister Galadi explained to journalists at the court premises that, the court has ruled three out of the four motions in their favor while the remaining one will be determined by the next sitting.
According to him, the application seeks the extension of time to reply the counter affidavit by the second defendant (INEC) and the fourth defendant, Senator Sahabi Kaura.
A counsel to the defendants, barrister Salauddeen, who applied for the cost of the sum of two million naira against the plaintiff for delaying the case, was rejected by the court which ruled that time should be given for replies to the counter affidavit filed by the defendants and ruling of appeal court in sokoto.
Barrister Galadi said the case was adjourned to 28 of July, 2026 for the receipt of replies to be filed in by the plaintiff for the case to move forward.
