The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State, Alhaji Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, CON, alongside the party’s Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates from the state, has received the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms from the ADC national and state secretariats in preparation for the 2027 General Elections.
This development marks the end of the political disagreements and misunderstandings that followed the party’s primary elections, ushering in a new era of unity, reconciliation, and collective preparation for the 2027 General Elections.
The task ahead is now clear: to consolidate unity, strengthen mutual understanding, and promote fairness among party leaders and members across Jigawa State.
As is widely acknowledged, every democratic political party provides constitutional and internal mechanisms through which unsuccessful aspirants can seek redress after primary elections. Consequently, political parties establish appeal and grievance committees to receive, review, and fairly determine petitions arising from their primary elections.
In line with this democratic tradition, the national leadership of the ADC constituted appeal committees in all states of the federation, including Jigawa State. In Jigawa, petitions were received from aspirants for various elective offices, including the governorship, and were addressed through the party’s established procedures.
With the issuance of INEC nomination forms to Alhaji Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, CON, and the party’s Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates, the internal electoral process has now been concluded. This demonstrates that the ADC has successfully completed all constitutional procedures and is now fully focused on preparations for the 2027 General Elections.
It is therefore imperative that all aspirants who challenged the outcome of the primary elections through the party’s appeal process respect the decisions of the party’s leadership in the overriding interest of political stability, internal cohesion, unity, and peaceful coexistence. By setting aside personal ambitions and embracing the collective will of the party, they will help strengthen the ADC’s electoral prospects and enhance its chances of securing victory in the 2027 General Elections.
Equally important, the party’s nominated candidates should work closely with party leaders to initiate meaningful reconciliation meetings and constructive dialogue with fellow aspirants who were unsuccessful during the primaries. Such efforts will foster trust, heal divisions, strengthen party cohesion, and significantly improve the party’s chances of achieving a resounding victory in 2027.
Judging by the current political landscape in Jigawa State, the ADC has presented credible, committed, and grassroots-oriented candidates. Each possesses the experience, leadership credentials, and political capacity required to win their respective elections, having spent many years building strong political structures and maintaining close ties with the people.
In conclusion, it is our sincere prayer and hope that Almighty Allah will unite the leaders and members of the ADC in Jigawa State, grant them wisdom, mutual understanding, and steadfastness, and bless the party with overwhelming success at all levels in the 2027 General Elections.
