The Executive Chairman of Funtua Local Government, Hon Abdulmutallab Sulaiman Goya, has expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful peace accord reached with the forest-dwelling Bandits groups across several local government areas as five kidnapped victims were released.
The affected local government councils are Funtua, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, Bakori, Danja, Kankara,Kafur and Malumfashi.
Speaking during the official handover of five rescued individuals to the Magajin Garin Maska Alhaji Abdullahi Umar, the chairman revealed that the victims were released by the Bandits in Sabuwa following a peace agreement recently reached with them.

Said, the victims, who are indigenes of Maska in Funtua Local Government Area, were in captivity for about three months.
He emphasized that their release was based on the peace agreement, without payment of ransom.
Upon receiving the victims, the chairman personally ensured they were taken to Sabuwa General Hospital for medical examination and treatment, where they were administered injections, intravenous fluids, and other medications, with all expenses fully covered by the local government chairman.
Hon Goya expressed satisfaction with the ongoing peace process, noting that the bandits had demonstrated good faith by honoring their promise to release the captives unconditionally.
He, however, acknowledged the persistence of isolated attacks in certain parts of Funtua, particularly around Maska area, despite the peace agreement.
He assured the people that his administration is actively engaging with those responsible for such incidents to build confidence, foster dialogue, and consolidate the peace initiative for the collective benefit of the people of Funtua, Katsina State, and Nigeria at large.
Reaffirming his commitment to peace and development, the chairman pledged continued support and cooperation with all stakeholders dedicated to safeguarding lives, property, and public order within the local government.
“My utmost priority remains the well-being of the people of Funtua Local Government, My doors are always open to constructive ideas and partnerships that will promote lasting peace and sustainable progress in our communities,” Hon Goya, stated.
The chairman extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda PhD, the Traditional rulers, security agencies, religious leaders, Critical stakeholders,and community leaders for their cooperation and unwavering support in the pursuit of lasting peace across the region.
In his response the village head of Maska Alhaji Abdullahi Umar thanked the Council Chairman for bringing back the kidnapped victims back home and for the payment of medical bills.
He then called upon general to intensified effort in making prayers for peace and stability to reign in the area.
