The Dandume Local Government Chairman Alhaji Bishir Sabiu has agreed to partner with the Dandume Local Education Authority (LEA) to boost education sector in the area.
This was made known by the Council chairman Hon Bishir Sabi’u Gyazama, when he received the Management of Local Education led by Education Secretary, Alh Umaru Amiru and Supervisory Councillor of Education Hon. Magaji Yusuf who paid him a courtesy call in his office.
The Dandume Local Government Information Officer, Alhaji Bashir Yero, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday.
In their separate remarks the Education Secretary, Alh Umaru Amiru and Supervisory Councillor Of Education Hon. Magaji Yusuf said they were at the local council to seek more synergy on how to boost education sector in Dandume local government area.
They lauded the effort of Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda and Dandume Local Government Council Chairman for their efforts to improve education sector in Dandume local government and Katsina State.
The Education Secretary mentioned some of the achievements recorded during his Two term tenure which include the construction of 60 Primary schools and renovations of some primary schools amongst others.
He also mentioned some of the challenges hindering primary education in the area which includes inadequate running Course and the lack of enough teaching staff among others
Alhaji Umar Amiru commended the efforts of the Dandume Local Government Chairman in bridging the gaps between the local Government and Local Education Authority.According to him this is the first time such a meeting was organized.
He urged the local council Chairman to find time to visit the offices of LEA and to see by himself with a view to address some of the challenges faced by them.
Responding , the Dandume Local Government Chairman, Hon Bashir Sabi’u Gyazama, commended the Management of Local Education Authority for developing Education in Dandume Local Government area.
Alhaji Bishir Sabiu pledged to bring back teachers transferred to another Local Government Education Authority doing their work.The teachers transferred to another areas are still been paying their salaries from Dandume LEA. The Chairman said bringing back the transfered teachers would reduce the shortage of of the teachers in the area. He expressed appreciation to the Management of LEA towards the development of primary Education in The area.
On the issue of Casual teachers the chairman said his administration will on how to review their allowances to Twenty thousand naira if possible.
The chairman further hinted that a special committee has been set up by the local council with a view to find out modalities that could develop education system in the local council, promised to work hand in hand with them to develop education system in the area.
