The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited all 28 academic programmes for Zamfara State University, Talata-Mafara. The exercise was held between 16th and 26th February, 2025. This outcome followed the release of the 2025 accreditation results of academic programmes in Nigerian universities across the country by the NUC.
To this end, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Yahya A. Zakari on behalf of Management and Senate of the university is pleased to announce that 20 programmes have received full accreditation with excellent scores, while 8 programmes have received interim accreditation. This is a testament to the university’s commitment to academic excellence and quality education.
Some of the accredited programmes are BNSc. Nursing Science, BSc. Public Health, BSc. Physiotherapy, BSc. Human Nutrition and Dietetics, BSc. Computer Science, BSc. Biology, BSc. Geology, BSc. Mass Communication, BSc. Economics and BSc. Electronics. The rest are BA History and International Studies, BA English, BA Islamic Studies, BEd. Primary Education and BEd. Early Childhood Education among others.
The Management of the University therefore, extends its heartfelt gratitude to the government of Zamfara state for the unwavering support and dedication in different respects. The provision of the necessary funds and resources has been instrumental in achieving this significant milestone.
Specifically, the Management thanks His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal most sincerely for his attention to the needs of the University, which has enabled it to meet all accreditation requirements effectively.
In addition, the Management would like to thank the entire university community, most especially Faculty staff and students, for their maximum contribution and efforts, which led to this feat. Your hard work and dedication have made profound impacts on our pursuit of academic excellence.
This achievement not only enhances the reputation of Zamfara State University but also reinforces its commitment to providing quality education that meets national and international standards.
