A Nongovernmental organization Zamfara Peace and Excellent Leadership Forum (ZPELF) has called on a retired Director of Finance who served at federal ministry of humanitarian and disaster management, Mohammed Sambo Wonaka to contest for Gusau local government chairmanship
Briefing Journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zamfara State Secretariat Gusau, the Chairman of the ZPELP, Malam Kabir Abubakar Gusau, said it is the mandate of his organization to monitor the affairs of governments at all level to ensure good governance for the benefit of electorates.
Abubakar Gusau explained that, one of the core mandates of his organization as duly registered upon, is to watch the services rendered by a public officers during their services and the prudent management of public funds which is an indicator of good leader that Sambo Wonaka demonstrated during his service years.
Gusau further said, it is on the same vein, after thorough investigation on the Mohammed Sambo’s civil service career right from his initial employment with Gusau local government before he was elevated to serve at the state government level and later to the federal government that he prove to be a trust worthy and dedicated public servant
“He served as a finance officer throughout his civil service carrier and not even once he was founded wanting with any malpractice, fraud or financial misconduct, therefore, a kind of person that deserves to serve as a manager of local government council after been satisfied that he is financially disciplined and prudent.
“Our hope is for Sambo Wonaka to honour our call and understand why the good people of Gusau local government are in dire need of a man like him who would not be on the position for self enrichment but to deliver the desired goals and services which would no doubt bring about a peaceful and excellent good governance”, Kabir Gusau has emphases.
