For one to become a good leader, he or she must posses qualities and characteristics that remarkably endear him to the general public.
In politics and democratic principles generally, responsible people who are very apt and courteous are required to occupy sensitive and public inclined positions of leadership.
We are all aware, that the 10th National Assembly will emerge by 29th May, 2023 but however, people with clear wisdom, proven integrity and capabilities are needed to lead the two legislative arms, the Senate and the Federal House of Representatives.
One of the undoubtedly capable icons of 10th National Assembly is the former governor of Zamfara state and now Senator elect for Zamfara West, Hon. (Dr.) Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar(Shattiman Zamfata).
Senator elect Yari is a nationalist and one of the trending Nigerian politicians with all the political prerequisites and very much qualified to occupy any leadership position such as that of the Senate President.
Yari has treasure of political experience. Before he became governor of Zamfara state, he was the state ANPP Secretary, state party chairman as well as national financial secretary of the same party.
He was also member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Mafara/Anka Federal Constituency.
Yari is a sound technocrat, good in fruitful administration and excellent governance.
He served as executive governor of Zamfara state for eight (8) good consecutive years, and he left behind indelible legacies across the state and in all sectors, achievements that endeared him in the heart of Zamfara people.
Yari was also the chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum. He headed the forum with all pride, humbleness and integrity which fetched him honor and respect among his contemporaries.
By any standard, Yari has knowledge of party affairs and leadership, and most importantly, he garnered experience pertaining to legislative affairs at the National Assembly.
On his personal character, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar is an energetic leader full of determination, commitments, generosity, resilient and above all, very progressive.
He is among the returning and new Senators jostling for the seat of the Senate President, but the fact is that he has positive edge over his co competitors.
Apart from his suitability and skills good for leadership of the 10th National Assembly, Shattiman Zamfara has the support of the Nigerian political class, the legislative class and most importantly, he enjoys the support and encouragement from the incoming and the outgoing administrations in person of the President elect, Alh. Ahmed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and President Muhammad Buhari towards the Senate leadership.
Just yesterday 30th April, 2023, the presumed next Senate President, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari met with the President Muhammad Buhari and earned Mr. President’s nod to go ahead with his aspirationt for 10th National Assembly Senate leadership bid.
The meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari was a clear indication of green light mandate for Yari towards clinching the exotic position of the Senate President.
Wishful prayers are vehemently required from all and sundry, because the victory Hon. Yari would not be just for Zamfara alone, but for Nigeria as a whole.
We are not unaware of the gains and progressive development that shall avail Zamfara state, the Northern region and the entire Nigerian society, if Shattiman Zamfara eventually becomes the next Senate President
