Sen. Tijjani Yahaya Kaura has insisted that his declaration as the winner of the Zamfara North Senatorial Primary election was
by the members of the electoral panel sent by the APC national headquarters was genuine.
Addressing newsmen at his Kaura Namoda Country home, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura alleged that, the Panel Chairman was hijacked by some undemocratic elements to an unknown destination is counter productive
He alleged that, the Panel Chairman was abducted and single handedly announced a purported results declaring Sen. Sahabi Yau as the winner but majority of the Panel members jointly collated the result and made official declaration and declared him the winner.
Kaura, therefore, said the abduction of the Panel Chairman was an attempt to truncate democracy which electorate would not succumb to.
He therefore, dismissed claims by opponents over the purported declaration of a different person as winner saying such act was null and void and has no effect.
According to him, the APC members have turned out enmass to exercise their civic right by electing him as their Senatorial Candidate for the 2027 general election.
Kaura expressed appreciation for the confidence electorate reposed in him to represent the Zamfara North Senatorial at the National Assembly.
He urged the stakeholders at all levels to respect the will of the electorate in the Senatorial district and announcement made by the members of the primary election committee.
