Zamfara State Mininstry Of Budget & Economis planning will organise annual Town Hall meetings for the three senatorial zones in state.
The aims and objectives of the town hall meetings was to present the budget to the beneficiaries from the grassroots for relevant observations, comments, additions and subsections where necessary for the year under review.
A press release issued by the Information Officer of the ministry, Comrade Bello Boko said this
was disclosed by the Commissiner of the Ministry Alhaji Muhammad Tukur E.S. while talking to Journalists in his office.
Alhaji Tukur ES emphasised that it was among the policies of the state executive Governor, (Dr) Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) to bring people closer to the government so that they enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He also said that governor intended to make sure that people from the grassroots realise what is government by the people of the people and for the people.
The Commissiner added that it was the first of its kind in zamfara state for the people from every nook and corner of the state to attend and witness the annual budget since the creation of the state in October, 1996.
This showed that every citizen in the state should know what is earmarked to their local government and the proposed project as well.
The commissioner finally called on the people in the state to attend the town hall meeting in three senatorial zones in good faith and look critically at the budget proposals and observe what is good for them and the general public.
He thanked the executive governor for his foresight towards initiating what would be good for the people of the state..
